What is Broccoli?
Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable, meaning that it's in the cabbage family. Broccoli grows in the soil, close to the ground and has a fat and dense green stalk from which its crown grows. The crown is the most popular part of the vegetable, and each stemmed section of the green crown is called a floret. Each floret has hundreds of pinhead sized balls that make the uneven dome-shape of the floret. Broccoli is green and has a sweet, green and earthy taste.
