What is Earl Grey Tea?
Earl grey tea is a flavored tea named after a British earl and member of Parliament named Charles Grey. Earl grey is a black tea made from the dried tea leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, grown primarily in East Asia. The tea is flavored with bergamot oil which comes from Italian oranges. The bergamot lends a deep and heady citrus, almost floral taste to the tea. The aroma is bright, full and highly aromatic. Earl grey tea is infused in hot water and generally served hot, though can be offered iced.
