What is Green Tea Infusion?

Green tea is a hot beverage made from the leaves of the camellia sinensis shrub, the plant used for making black and green teas. The leaves of green tea are small and when dried are a muted green color. They produce a drink that is a pale green, or yellow. The flavor varies greatly depending on how the tea was processed and flavored, whether pan-roasted, or scented with jasmine. A basic green tea has flavors that generally include fruity, floral, earthy and vegetal, and bitter. Green tea can be served hot or cold and is made by steeping the leaves in hot water for a few minutes.
