What is Little Neck Clams?
Little Neck clams are small hard or Quahog clams, named after Little Neck Bay on Long Isalnd. They have a hard shell and measure 1-2 inches across. Their flesh has a sweet, briny flavor and a meaty texture. They can be served raw on the half-shell with lemon and cocktail sauce, steamed and served with melted butter, served with pasta, or added to chowders.
