What is Octopus?
The octopus is a sea creature. When cooking octopus, the long tentacles are the most commonly served part, though many other areas of the body can be consumed. The texture is soft, slippery and extremely tender. It becomes rubbery if overcooked. The color is cream and purple. The flavor is mild and a bit reminiscent of bland chicken. Octopus is best served with sauces.
