What is Preserved Fruits?
Preserved fruits refers to nearly any variety of fruit that is preserved and jarred or canned in a sugar syrup. Often preservatives are added such as potassium sorbate, citric acid or pectins. The pectins would be to add a gel-like quality to both fruit and sugar syrup. Commonly preserved fruits are pears, cherries and oranges.
