What is Protein?

Protein powder is a powdery substance used to add protein mainly to drinks and is also found in some food items. It is typically made from whey and can also be made from soy, hemp, peas, eggs and certain grains. Protein powder usually has a cream or tan color and a flavor that is mild. Whey protein tastes milky, while hemp protein is nutty and regardless of what it is made from the flavor is not strong unless additional flavors are added.
