What is Seltzer?
Seltzer is carbonated water into which pressurized carbon dioxide has been dissolved, creating bubbles. Seltzer is the same as flat water in terms of viscosity, but has bubbles and may be flavored. Seltzer is different from soda water, because it does not have any added minerals, unlike soda water. Bottled seltzer loses its fizz quickly once opened and is best served cold.
