Shell pasta, pasta shells, or conchiglie are shaped like small seashells, with a rounded top, uniform ridges and sides that curl under. The pasta is made from wheat flour and has a cream color. When dry, the pasta is hard. Once boiled it becomes soft and easy to chew, while still maintaining its from. The flavor is mild and slightly nutty.
