What is Spelt?
Spelt is grain closet related to wheat. The grain grown on long stalks and is harvested for use. Spelt is the size of a wheat grain and short, thin and oblong, with gently pointed ends. The color is a pale golden-cream. The flavor is sweet, nutty and mild. Spelt has a soft texture when cooked and can be used in many savory dishes. Spelt is additionally milled into flour to be used in baking.
