What is Taro?
Taro root has leafy tops and a very large root that is shaped like an oblong sweet potato and with less tapering at the ends. The root has a brown skin and the flesh is firm, white and starchy. It's flavor is sweet and similar to a sweet potato. When cooked it maintains its texture and becomes soft without falling apart. Taro is eaten as is, used to make chips, pastas, desserts, cracker and fries.
