What is Baguette?

Baguettes are long loaves of crusty French bread. They are typically about 2 feet in length and have a thin diameter. The crust is dense, light brown and dusted with flour. The inside of the bread is light, white, airy and a little chewy. The flavor is nutty, pleasing and mild. A classic baguette contains no fat. This bread is served on it's own, as a side for many dishes and makes a great sandwich.
