What is Beef Pepperoni?
Beef pepperoni is a cured deli meat, made from beef and beef fat. It is mixed with savory seasonings to add a salty, piquant and umami flavor to this popular topping used on pizzas and in calzones. The beef is pressed tightly into a thin log and cured with salt and preservatives. Once the curing process is completed beef pepperoni is ready to eat. It is sliced thin, has a chewy texture and is red-brown in color. When heated it crisps nicely.
