What is Ginkgo Nuts?
Ginkgo nuts are found inside the fruit of ginkgo tree. These nuts look like small grapes with a hard shell. A word of warning, these nuts are poisonous and it is necessary to cook them prior to eating. Once cooked, they are safe to consume. The cooked nut is somewhat gummy in texture, with a yellow or green color. They taste slightly sweet and similar to chestnuts. They are mainly used in East Asian cuisine and can be found as a bar snack or an addition to congee, among other dishes.
