What is Saccharin?
Saccharin is an artificial sweetener that was banned in 1981 and is now unbanned and used worldwide. It is made via two chemical compounds which create a sweet substance. Saccharine looks like sugar and is composed of tiny, white granules. The flavor of saccharine has a bitter and metallic aftertaste and 300-400 times more sweet than sugar. Saccharine is used to sweeten drinks, medicine and food.
