What is Sunflower Rolls?
Sunflower rolls are a type of bread roll made from yeast leavened wheat dough. The roll is formed into a round ball and baked. The bottom becomes flat and the top is domed and golden brown. The diameter is a few inches or so and is topped with nutty tasting sunflower seeds, which may also be mixed into the dough. The roll is mild and pleasing in flavor with a light bready texture.
