What is Yogurt Sauce?
Yogurt sauce, also called tzatziki sauce is found most frequently in Greek and Turkish cuisines. It is a condiment made from plain yogurt that has been mixed with finely diced cucumbers, lemon juice and spices. It is white and thick, with a smooth and very creamy consistency and the refreshing crunch of cucumber. The flavor is tart, salty and garlicky. It is served with gyros and as a topping and dipping sauce.
