What is Cheese Ravioli?
Cheese ravioli is an Italian pasta filled with seasoned ricotta cheese. It is made by placing spoonfuls of the cheese filling on a flat sheet of fresh pasta. A second layer is placed on top and the ravioli is cut into square shapes around the cheese, then pressed tightly at the edges. Some ravioli are shaped like a half moon. The color of this pasta dish is cream colored and has the flavors of wheat, cheese and salt. The texture has body and is soft. Cheese ravioli is often served with pasta sauce.
