What is Coleslaw?
Coleslaw is a side dish served cold and made from shredded cabbage mixed with a mayonnaise dressing. An ideal mayo-based coleslaw has crisp cabbage and a creamy dressing. The flavors are lightly sweet, tangy and refreshing. Some coleslaws are tossed in a vinegar dressing, rather than a mayonnaise dressing. Coleslaw pairs well with southern food and barbecue, it is however dutch in origin.
